IT Dansa Audition. Information in English

Read the instructions carefully. 

 IT Dansa, postgraduate course for young dancers,  will hold an audition for female and male dancers under 23 years, with a strong classical technique to fill several positions from September 2023.

The aim of the Course (2 years course) is for dancers to attain technical and artistic excellence. It will lead, with the collaboration of invited choreographers, to the production of high-standard shows to be presented as a young dance company on the theatre circuit.

The audition will take place on 1th April 2023, at 10 a.m at Institut del Teatre (plaça Margarida Xirgu s/n de Barcelona).

AUDITION

The audition will consist of two distinct parts: 

• 1^st part: a pre-selection of the applicants based on the evaluation of the presentation video with the required documentation that the candidates will send via online form before 6th February (14 p.m)
• 2nd part: IT Dansa audition on 1th April 2023, selected applicants will be notified on the 7th March via email and will be invited to the IT Dansa audition held in the Institut del Teatre (Barcelona, Spain). Audition will include: 

- Class of classic, class of contemporary (morning)
- Repertoire, interpretation and an interview (afternoon)

*The audition will be organized in full compliance with the respective epidemiological regulations.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: 

During the registration is required to submit the following material: 

• A photo or a copy of your passport or ID
• A document or photo of your dance diploma (if you are in the last year of your studies, you need to submit an official letter from your current institution certifying that situation)
• Your currículum vitae (with a head shot)
• A video presentation with the following structure

VIDEO PROPERTIES 

• Must be performed in tight fitting dance attire

• The video must be clear and close enough to be viewed properly

• The video must have the following name: "Surname-Name"

• The recording should be horizontal and in .mp4 format 

• The video must have the following structure:  

- Self-presentation of the candidate  (in Catalan, Spanish, English or French) who will explain:
a) What motivation do you have to come to IT Dansa? (Maximum 30 seconds)
b) Which of your qualities do you consider suitable to enter to IT Dansa? (Maximum 30 seconds)

- Center exercises (classical technique): 1 adagio, 1 small jumps, 1 turns and 1 grand allegro (1-2 minutes for each exercise)

- Fragment of a repertoire proposed by IT Dansa: you can watch the fragment of the repertoire here , without music here and the music here.

- Improvisation: Take into account the use of the whole space, the changes of dynamics and qualities of movement and the different levels. This improvisation can be presented with or without music. (1-2 minutes without cuts)

Incomplete materials will not be processed

The period for applying is from 16th of January to 6th of February (14 p.m).

Late applications will not be considered.
